Shameless Sexuality
The aim of the Shameless Sexuality: Life After Purity Culture conference is to educate mental health clinicians and empower survivors, connecting them with qualified therapists, consultants, coaches, and resources to aid in recovery from Purity Culture indoctrination.

Shameless Sexuality was founded in 2022 by Janice Selbie, who also founded CORT: the Conference on Religious Trauma. Indoctrinated into evangelical Christianity from birth, Janice was a devout Believer for several decades and indoctrinated her own children with toxic Purity Culture beliefs.
​
After divorcing her religion, Janice became a Registered Professional Counsellor and religious trauma recovery coach. Recognizing how Purity Culture indoctrination robs many of the ability to enjoy sex and sexuality, Janice founded Shameless Sexuality: Life After Purity Culture as a safe space for people to understand the harms wrought by Purity Culture indoctrination and connect with helpful resources and clinicians.

In addition to her conferences, Janice hosts the Divorcing Religion Podcast and has a thriving practice working one-on-one with clients recovering from religious trauma. She also developed and facilitates the Divorcing Religion Workshop and runs a free online support group for religious trauma survivors.
